AERIALS
There are zero drones used to make these images.
Every aerial photograph in this collection was made the same way - a door open, the wind at full volume, and a camera in hand somewhere over the earth. Sometimes it's a helicopter. Sometimes a small plane. Always a real aircraft, a real pilot, and myself leaning out of the aircraft fully committed to the shot.
Drone photography has its place, but there's something fundamentally different about being in the sky versus sending something up into it. The perspective shifts. The scale becomes visceral. And the images - the compression, the light, the sense of enormity - reflect that.
